Default Taking off the top panel on a 99 T/A?

Does anyone know how to take off the panel on the top of a t-top 99 T/A. I see some screws holding it on both sided when i take the weather strip off but is that all it has, or does it have double stick foam tape?

I think he's talking about that metal piece that seperates the t-tops. That piece you're talking about has some kind of panel glue underneath; it's not just screwed down.

Why are you trying to pull it?

The peace on the top between the t-tops and the rear window. I want to paint the entire car and i just want to do it right by stripping it all the way. i was told i could pull it off.

Thats a part of the car..its not like a panel that is removable. You can take it off, but you will need to buy a new one.

Why not all it has is an adhesive tape on the back side. Pull the screws and use a screw driver to carefully pull it up. When you put is back on get some 3m urethane seam sealer and rub a thin uniform coat on the bottom and reinstall it. I did it on the last two cars I had during repaints and have not had any problems.

That's not taped on, it's glued on with panel bond adhesive. It's not coming off in one piece.

I got the panel off in one peace!! it just had a couple of screws and some glue that came off pretty easy. I guess it was not glued right but it came off.

I heated it up with a heat gun after i took off alll the screws and the interior. it popped off with some prying. The person who owned the car before me painted it white and the rest of the car was black. I did not like that look so it had to come off for repaint, although i am painting the whole car, but the motor is in the shop so i have some time for stripping.

I think he means the little strip in the middle between the T-tops.... hes not talking about the roof panel behind the t-tops that commonly bubbles AKA the sail pannel.
