Factory undercoating?
Factory undercoating? My car has this rubberuzed looking compound that looks to have been sprayed on, and i have been looking through other ppls pictures and alot of them dont have this. Was this a dealer option or something?

Done at the dealer.
Mine has the same thing. Paid for it when it was bought. Dealer had it installed/applied.
If you want to get it off, it's gonna take quite a bit of time. A torch and a scraper will work well.
The factory just has this odd looking wax sorta coating to cover the metal for corrosion resistance....my engine bay had a lot of that crap in it.

so i guess it does nothing but benefit my car. I guess ill leave it on.
What i HAVE noticed is paint literaly rubbing off in my engine bay under my master cylinder/brake booster.....maybe the brake fluid over time ate the paint up.
