two stripes
#3
the two stripes are known as "hash marks" and came standard on the c4(4th gen) corvette model labeled "Grand Sport"- these came with a revised suspension and the LT4 variant of the lt1 motor found in the 4 th gen camaro. limited edition run, typically found blue with a single white stripe down the middle

The 1996 C4 Grand Sport RPO Z16 was powered by the LT4 motor (330 HP)not the LT1. The RPO Z16 Grand Sports were Admiral Blue with a white center stripe red hash marks on the front fender and special detailing. They had the ZR-1 wheels that were painted black. The Grand Sports coups had the rear fender flares rather than the ZR-1s wider rear panels. The convertibles did not have the fender flares. The interior choices were limited to black, or a red-black combination. the Grand Sports had a separate serial number sequence.

60s not only the 90s
Yes, all that it true, but some of the original GS vettes from the late 60 had those blue stripes as well.
Like Vetman1 said, that's why they put them on the LT4 vettes - as a tribute to the original race-only Gran Sports.

People may have put them on the cars but the factory never did..they were never offered as a option... except on the RPO Z16 cars ...
