just got an estimate....
just got an estimate.... Bought a VFN sunoco hood and went and got my first estimate today. It was a little more than I expected. I read about others on here getting theirs painted for $350-500. My estimate came out to $1,262!
Granted, I had them tack on a few other things than just the hood getting painted. My old stripes have to be removed and blended as I'm assuming the paint under the stripes won't match the rest of the car. I also had them quote the berger panel mod, since I figured I would get that done while it was there, so that adds a few about 2 more hours and some more money to the total. And the quote also included the underside of the hood being painted. I still was not expecting that much, but this is the first and only place I've been to so far. Gonna swing by another place sometime this week. And might just get the quote done for only the hood being painted and adjusted this time. Let me know what you paid to have your fiberglass hood painted to see if my inital thought on price of $400-600 is close. I know you get what you pay for, but I would have kept the old hood and put knew stripes on the car and put the rest of the money towards mods.
