Default Question for any Body Guys

This is going to sound weird, but do all cars use roughly the same thickness of body panels? Comparing roof, trunk, and hood, is any one area generally thicker? Are panels generally any thinker or thinner than they were say 20 years ago? Thanks in advance.

its hard to say. but panels now are made pretty shitty. they dent easy. older cars had thicker metal. usually doors have a bit thicker metal twords the edges because there are 2 skins meeting but in the middle it will be about the same as a quarter panel. sometimes trunk lids tend to be a little thinner. it all depends on the manufactuer. hope this helped answer ur question
