Default Glass/Composite quarters?

Honestly I never paid much attention til recently.. But I thought the rear quarters on my car were fiberglass or composite? They dont "ting ting" like metal..
After looking aruond/reading I found the quarters are metal on these cars.

Anyhow, fast foreward to now.

I was parked at the mall and some idiot backed into my rear bumper. All it did really was spider crack the paint for the most part. After giving it a good cleaning earlier though I noticed the quarter has a small crack in it. The quarter is def not metal.

Both quarters, no matter what spot you check, do not "ting" like metal. And no the car has not been wrecked/bondo'd/glassed/or anything else.

So.. am I wrong, did WS6's come w/glass rear quarters?

If they appear stock they are metal. You my friend have bondo in at least one quarter for sure. That would explain your cracking.

Unless your car has to have both quarter panels replaced due to an accident and he (the previous owner) brought the body shop some aftermarket nonmetallic quarter panels rather than factory replacement parts, which would be steel, then your car should have metal quarter panels. All of the Fbodies that rolled out of the factory where they were made have metal quarter panels.

pull back the interior and check the inner quarters, you may see dolly marks or roughness wich would be sighns of repair wich may mean bondo, also check the quarter seams where it meats your rear body you can usally tell if they have been replaced, post a pic of the damage if you could. see if the magnet sticks to the inner quarter.
