Default Got tired of rear panel..

I know i'm not the first to do it but i decided to go a different route with my rear facia..Every on started doing the black rear panel so i went with a silver one at first, but then decided since the car is way under the knife i'm going to paint the entre car and decided to change the look of the rear panel.. So I filled in CAMARO and the key hole.. I'll get some pics up soon of the progress but i think it looks 2x better and cleaner..

you need to progressively work your way up to 2000 grit.

i'm not an auto body pro, but i think 2000 is way overkill for before paint prep. unless you're talking about wetsanding the clear.

Yeah 2000 is what you sand up to on clear prior to buffing, before primer you want to get up to 220 and before base wet sand with 600, with a soft block. On wholesale (non-metallic base) cars I've done 180 prior to primer then used high build 2K primer then just DA everything with a soft pad and 320 prior to base, but that's just to get them in and out.

2000 before base is overkill. i usually do 220 with a hard block 400 with a hard block600 with a soft block or on show cars with a hard block and on lighter colors and show cars 800 before base. with clear i use 1500 on knibs followed by 3000.
