Default Air Lid is hitting the hood.....

Hi all,

I installed a SLP air lid on my TA, wanting to push it further, I had it all flamed airbrush. The problem I encountered is that the hood hits on the new air lid. I am now thinking of modifying my hood just enough so it clears. Anyone ever encountered this problem.

I just noticed my SLP is hitting on my SS as well. Anybody know how to fix this?

What I did yesterday, I put some putty on the lid, I marked where it was hitting and cut it out. Besides the hole of about 2" x 4", after repainting the hood it looks fine. I know now that all the SLP lids do that but after seeing the damage done on my custom airbrushing.... I had to do something. Now the only thing left to do is fix the airbrushing.

I Cut The Shroud On The Back Where The Neck Of The Lid Was Hitting The Lower Shroud About 2x3 Piece Then Shortened My Bellow And That Solved My Problem On My Ss

Make sure your lid is pushed inside the tabs that hold it in from the back. I remember i was having problems with my hood hitting my slp lid. Then i found out that the lid wasn't installed correctly.

Same problem here so i cut a small peice of the fuzzy piece of velcro and stuck that to the hood so not to mess up my painted lid. Works great and doesn't look to bad.
