Default how to align doors?

Specifically, I need to bring the rear of the door up so it engages properly with the striker (ie. as if the door is sagging). The door is not actually sagging, I just need to realign it after removing the lower hinge because I replaced the detent roller thing. The hinges are good, and I never loosened the top hinge from the chassis.

My questions are (after an unsuccessful search):
- is there a writeup on this issue somewhere?
- what sort of tricks/methods are you guys using?

I know what needs to be adjusted and why (the lower hinge side that bolts to the chassis - it should adjust the door level), but the damn thing refuses to cooperate. It seems no matter how far I adjust it, I can't get the rear of the door high enough and it hits the rocker panel. I guess I'm hoping someone has a clever trick or method they've used in a similar situation.

It is way misaligned, to the point that it hits the rocker panel. With the lower hinge bolts loose, I can pick up the rear of the door and it will close. I just can't seem to get the lower hinge to stay in that position while I open the door to tighten bolts. Make sense? Just wondering if someone invented a clever technique to do this.....it's kicking my ***.

Oh I gotcha. What I did was loosne the bolts and put a 2x4 on my jack and jacked it up where it was closing correctly then bolted it up that way. Had to tweak it a time or 2 though

Thanks for the reply.

I had been using a cherry picker w/ a padded lifting strap, thinking it would accomplish the same thing. But no luck.

I got out there today w/ my jack and some wood and it worked like a charm. Who'da thunk. Body work still sucks though.
