Has anyone here done this? Pics would be cool.
I've wasted more than I've used. The stuff dries in the can while it sits, even if you try to be careful. Or the lid gets stuck to the can, and then you're hosed. My usage rate of POR-15 was about 50% or less of the can (so it cost twice as much as it "should have"). It doesn't sit around very long or very well.
Marine Clean is a good cleaner. It takes the dead skin right off your hands.
Metal Ready does its job, but you have to make sure to wash it off and clean any MR residue off before applying any products over the top of it.
I will use a good black epoxy primer instead of POR15. As a 2-part coating (primer plus activator), it doesn't go bad like POR15 does. Plus, you can topcoat epoxy primer later if you want... POR15, once it's dry, can't really be topcoated (must do so within the first day drying window).
I know POR15 is popular, but I think epoxy primer is a more cost effective, better solution for me.
