Default How would I go about...

I have some fuel rail covers and I want to take the texture off of them and take off the raised lines and the the "5.7" on them. I want them totally smooth. I am going to fill in the "corvette" with body filler, I was just wondering if there was an easier way to take off the raised part instead of sanding for hours.

belt sander/angle grinder. messy, but it would do the job pretty quick.
