I don't like that idea. You mean just pin it on instead of bolt it on. Or do you mean cut more re-inforcement out of it and then pin it on? To be honest, after my pin-on hood, I would rather have a bolt-on and the extra weight. And my car is 26XX lbs.

If it's a driver then pin ons can be a bit of a PITA since you will need an extra pair of hands to get under the hood. That being said if thats the way you want to go then all you need is a pin kit a drill and some wrenches to make it work. If you want to cut more weight then you can cut out some of the supports but IMO the hassle of dealing with it outweigh any benefits you will see by shaving a couple pounds. Now of coarse we are talking about an all out race car then every little bit helps...........

well the gist of it is that one of the nuts in the hood that the hinges bolt into was "spun' by the previous owner, so now the drivers side hinge cant be tighented down tight enough.
and i figure that pinning it would be the easiest way to make it attach to the car and the pins look cool
has anyone ever used the aerocatch hood pins
