I've go a shift boot metal clip that replaces the plastic peice thats used to hold the shift boot to the shifter plate on 4th gen manual trans fbodies. I got it from redline goods and I believe 6le carries them too.

I decided to stick with the plastic peice I had just recently purchased prior to finding this peice. $30 shipped
