Differences between 98 A4 PCM and 00 M6?

Differences between 98 A4 PCM and 00 M6? I'm looking at swaping my M6 tranny with another person who has a 98 A4. I seem to recall something is different with the wiring harness for 98's vs 99+ fbodies but can't find anything with searching. Can a 98 A4 PCM be dropped into a 00 M6 and vice versa?

Re: Differences between 98 A4 PCM and 00 M6? no definitely not. The pinouts are very different and they are 2 totally different species.
What I would recommend if for both of you to have your PCMs converted to the opposite trans that came in your cars. I have done this before with success.

Re: Differences between 98 A4 PCM and 00 M6? How do I go about getting an A4 program loaded onto my PCM and is there any chance I can keep the VIN? I ask because I have ls1edit and would really prefer to not have to spend more money to update it.
