My dad bought a no name DTC reader, D900 can scan something or another.

anyway it wont connect to my el camino swap when its running, but it will when our 96 cheyenne (sp) is running.

I'd like to get live data when my ls1 is running.

I guess im wondering if my waitforme tune locked this feature or if one of the grounds i wired is messed up. It works fine when the engine is off just wont connect when its running. any thoughts?

 

We never lock any of our ecms. Nor do we turn off the scan tool reporting from the ecm. If it dont work, i would just check the wiring. usually it is a pretty simple connection.

ORANGE = all time 12 v +
both blacks = GRound.
purple wire goes to the obd2 connection wire from the ecm pin 58

 

Thanks, i figured the ecm was ok cause it works fine when the motor is off. must just be a bad ground or something.
