Default I need help BAD! code P0118

I keep throwing P0118 and I have changed my engine coolant temp sensor twice thinking that was the cause, but I have found that just by shaking the wires going to the sensor causes it to set off the code. and if I shake them enough the car shuts off. What do I do? I just swapped out my 99' motor for a 98' motor. I did not swap to a 98' PCM and I am using the 99' ect sensor. I just don't know what else to do. Do you guys think it would be in the harness? I felt that if it were in the harness then other sensors or etc... would malfunction or read incorrect. PLEASE HELP I am at my wits end.
and TIA for any advice.

Sounds like a short or a loose wire in the sender harness...

With it being located so close to the #1 plug, it's in a spot that could get easily bumped.

Hope you find it -

Yeah, I guess I am going to have to just rerun that particular sensor wire.
