pcm question

this maybe a very dumb question and i apoligize in advance if it is.but will all 98-02 pcm's work in all 98-02 ls1 cars?i have a 98 z28 that has a junk pcm and i want to know if i need to find a pcm out of another 98 or if i can use one from anycar.i figured they would be the same but i could be way off.thanks guys.

98 pcm is different than 99+, you need to replace with another '98 pcm.

I have heard that you can repin the connector but the fuel level sensor is different and the guage wont work.I am looking to do the same swap but havent got enough information to tackle it yet.
