99-02 harness with '04 PCM?

I found a real good price on a Painless 99-02 stand-alone harness but my donor PCM came from a '04 LS1. Can it work or would I have to find the earlier PCM?

Does your PCM have the blue and red plugs or the green and blue?
If it has the Green and blue, the green plug will not fit in the harness connector, nor will it be pinned out correctly.

darn....I have the green and blue. Buying another PCM would sorta negate the savings so let me keep shopping. Thanks.

Are you planing on running a cable throttle body with your swap? If so, unless that PCM you have is out of an 04 GTO, then you can't use it any way. You'll need a pcm with with the blue and red connectors. The 03+ Blue and green connector PCM are a 1 meg flash chip and don't have a driver for the Air idle motor you will need with the cable TB. They are all drive by wire. Jesse at Wait4Me Performance would probable trade you PCM for just the shipping cost.

Yeah, the PCM and engine all came out of a 2004 GTO so I guess it should all work together if I bought a harness meant for a '04 LS1?

Ya, you should be ok with that PCM then. In fact, I believe you could use that painless harness with your PCM if you change the green connector for a red on with the little bit of reading up i did on it.
