tuning question
i have a 2000 camaro ss a4 with full length headers,a y pipe with no muffler turned down by the rear axle,a 78mm fast intake, ported throttle body, granatelli maf, no thermostat that has dynoed 331/347. anyway i took out the thermostat this summer and the car runs constantly at 140 degrees and i was wondering if i could expect to gain any horsepower making the car come out of open loop. (i plan on putting a 160 t-stat in this weekend). and also if you guys recommend putting an actual muffler on the car such as a borla xr1. it sounds good the way it is but i think that it, being a stock motor may pick up a little with some back pressure. this leads us to my question - do you think i can break 340 rwhp with it actually being in closed loop and with some backpressure??

There's nothing wrong with running open loop as long as your afr is correct. I ran open loop for quite a while with no real issues. 140 is a tad on the cold side imo. Get her a little warmer and you'll probably gain power from that alone. I doubt you'll gain from putting a muffler on. If you like the way it sounds I'd leave it. Put a thermostat in it, make sure your tune is dialed in, and let us know your results.
