Will this void my Cat replacement?

Will this void my Cat replacement?
I have a 2000 camaro z28. So I just got the service engine soon light and went to Auto Zone who said it was my left bank catalytic converter. I remembered the extended warranty for 10 year 120,000 miles in bulletin 05513.
The only real engine modification I have is the free ram air and the slp lid and a flowmaster muffler with the quad tip exhaust. Are they going to try and screw me and say that any or all of the above listed caused my catalytic converter to go out?
Help me out

I wouldn't think so. Its not like you have headers or anything. They'll see the lid and think its stock and won't see the free mod and the exhaust is after the cat so I wouldn't think you'll have a problem. The bigger problem might be getting the GM dealer to say they will replace it. I had the same problem this summer, mine was the passenger side cat. I called the dealer and they said they didn't know about it so I had to call the GM customer service thing and they were real good there, even called the dealer to tell them to fix it.

Code was P0420/P0430, or they just told you it was the cat? If they cleared it I'd wait until it comes on again and doublecheck, then leave it on for the dealer to see. Just be sure, don't trust autozone - if it turns out to be something else like a bad rear 02 you'll be charged for at least the dealer's diagnostic check even if they don't work on it. They should've specified bank 1 or bank 2 instead of "left bank". Don't mention any mods and they should honor the warranty.

Yeah the code was p0420 and The check engine light is on so I assume they did not clear it. If it is the code above does that mean that they should replace it? It did say low-bank 1, I still have the little slip of paper.

Well I took my car down to the dealership this morning and dropped it off. I kept my slp lid on it, but replaced the filter with a clean one. It will cost 93 dollars for a diagnostic if I am wrong. But with a P0420 code and a rotten egg smell this morning when I took it down I am hoping, really hoping they don't screw me. I just have a bad feeling that they will find anything to avoid doing it for free. I told the service person about the bulletin and printed off the letter to show them. We'll see.

Nope. I have done the replacement of factory cats (2) times with bolt ons. Your good to go!
Another way you could have helped yourself diagnosing this thing is to go to a shop and have them use a laser heat monitor on the left/right cats. Your clogged cat will be hot as hell compared to the other. I was tired of visiting the dealership so I gutted my last set.

First of all thanks everybody for your help. They gave me a call and said they would be able to fix it under warranty, get this though, he wanted to mention two things, he said the rear o2 sensor was rubbed raw by the transmission and that could trip another ses code ( anybody ever hear of that happening?) And my transmission fluid looked a little dirty? I Just had it changed FOUR MONTHS AGO and I watched the people do it. Any thoughts?

If an 02 harness' wire insulation wears through it can arc on something and blow the ENG SEN fuse and throw a code - but they're easy to replace yourself. Up to you but don't know what dealer list is on 02's these days...A4trans flush and fill is outragous at a dealership for sure. Maybe they're just trying to make some money while the car is there.

Thats what I am thinking.....I have 41000 miles on my car at this point... The O2 sensor was 150.00 plus 50 to install, Oh Okay chevy let me pay you double what I can get an O2 sensor for

Dealership surprised me
I got my car back and they said they replaced both catalytic converters...WOW, I was so happy, I have a little bit more faith in dealerships....

Wow is right, usually they'll only replace the converter on the bank the code is on. Take a look to be sure. Maybe they replaced both and billed GM.
