My wife borrowed my truck and an hour later she called me to say the check engine light was on.
My truck is a 2005 silverado crew cab vin T. It has 47,000 miles, I am the original owner and have had a hypertech and K & N on the vehicle for at least 35,000 miles.
I used the hypertech to clear the codes p0449 and c0245.
drove the truck for a little while and light came back on. same codes.
p0449 is the evaporative emissions canister vent solenoid
c0245 is a wheel sensor.
I did a visual check and no wires seem to be hanging underneath the truck.
a few months ago I was correcting my programmer for tire size and I misread my writing. I programmed for 35 inch tires instead of 31 inch tires. Within 3 miles I had ABS and check engine lights turning on. Reprogramming it fixed it.
I last programmed the truck 1 month ago and I had no codes.
since the codes are for two completely different systems i am assuming one code doesn't turn on the light.
Since one code is for emissions is my truck still covered under a longer warranty?
If I am not under warranty, what should be my steps to fix?
