Hypertech Tuner Questions...
I have a Hypertech tuner that plugs into the OBDII connection under the steering wheel. It has the option for both reg and non reg gas... Which one should I choose? Also, I want to set the transmission shift points, and it has a scale from 1st-2nd, 2nd-3rd, and 3rd-4th all of which having a range of selection between -6 mph and +6 mpg... Whats the best way to set this up? Thanks in advance for any help!

Can't help you on the shift points. As far as the gas part.... regular gas would be 87 reg/ mid-grade 89 octane and non regular would be premium gas 91-93 octane and above. Unless you are heavily modded/high CR motor and require 91-93 and above octane ...don't use this mode. Use the regular setting.
I would sort of disagree.
This is a high performance motor, and was not designed to run 87 from the factory, so I would choose the high octane tune.
Also, you will see better performance gains from the higher octane tune generally.

dont mess with the shift mph... have a reputable shop change ur shift points if u want that done, im pretty sure the shift points work on both mph and rpm and changing just one would probably cause problems. (at least thats what i remember reading when i was looking up the hypertech tuners)
FWIW, i ditched the handhelds and just had a shop do tuning with hptuners / ls1edit and have never regretted the decision.

Pretty sure some Hypertechs have a tune for Reformulated and Non Reformulated gas, not regular and non regular. There was a time when some areas of the country were required to sell the reformulated gas for emissions reasons. Don't know if they still do or not.

Thinking of putting my car back to factory tuning and just keeping the tuner to clear dtc codes, keeping pressure on my tran lines, and for adjusting for a 3.73 gear. Hypertech told me to go +3 mph for 1-2 shift, +6 mph for 2-3 shift, and +9 for 3-4 shift. Worked awesome til I got to 3-4 shift... then it hit the damn rev limit before shifting for a good 4 seconds at WOT. Now its set at +2, +4, and +6 with rev limit at 6400. Seems to be the best setup for what I have.
