Default Why does the belt keep jumping off

Has anyone gone through this? My belt keep slipping off at full throttle. I do have a converter but it never did this with just that. Ever since I went up with the rev limit and shift points. The belt comes off when I run her hard. Any suggestions?

Chek your tensioner & idlers.
Make sure that tensioner stays strait thru its entire swing or arc.

You will probably have to order a new tensioner pulley from Thunder Racing. This happened to me after my heads/cam install.

They sell the pulley that has a little higher lip on it to keep the belt from sliding off. There was no other way around it for me and not one problem since the pulley install.

I think it cost $50 - $65. Worth every penny!!

DITTO!

I installed the same "higher lip" pulley and my belt throwing troubles are history...

I kept throwing my serpentine belt after I put together a combo that I buzzed up to 6600.

I got the ASP 'Larry' pulley that TR sells.

FWIW I first tried replacing the tensioner with a newer one and it did not cure the problem so don' bother.

good info! I'll have to try that pulley out... i've thrown my belt twice (once giving it too much gas on startup (before I tuned it), and 2nd when I was messing on the expressway at 120)

Anyone have a link to it? I checked TRs page under pulleys but only tensioner thing I saw as 130 bux and didn't include pulley...

Just call TR. They don't have it listed on their page. Explain that you want the ASP tensioner pulley with the higher than stock ridge. They will know what you are talking about. I think it is around $60-70.
