Default So the GEN 7 DFI can be run as a standalone?

I'm switching the FAST- turbo SBC in my 67 to a LS1 based forced induction engine, the GEN 7 system is appealing to me because it seems I wont have to link in a GM PCM to control timing...

Can anybody verify this?

I love the FAST I have now, but everyone I talk to is running it in a late model and piggybacking the factory PCM for timing and just using the FSAT for fuel.

Well before I answer the question, I have a few for you. What transmission are you running? and what arrangement are you running for your quages?
