'service engine' ight ?

'service engine' ight ? a couple months back i threw some LTs on my 99 LS1. did a cat-less TSP Y.so, i knew i was going to throw a "service engine soon" light.my original plan was to go to SLP and have them tune it out(since theyre a 15 min drive from me), but i can access to a handheld tuner...im suspecting it to be an HP or some bs.its coming from a 00 t/a.
question 1 - can i use a handheld to get rid of the code?...even if i do have to keep re-doing it to keep the light off.
question 2 - since its coming from an 00 car.am i going to be able to use it on my 99.i thought the years for HP went 98-00, and than 01-02...but i could be wrong.
whats the best way to approach this.any input on this would help guys.
