insufficiant wire to power coils
insufficiant wire to power coils I just got done changing my harness to a stand alone and im about to put wire loom back on the wires and ive really noticed the all the wires that power the coils are ity bity. I was woundering if anybody ever tested the littel wires to see if their holding back the coils a bit. if so id like to upgrade the wires right now before i put it all back together. Fired the car up for the first time last night but only runs for a few secounds have to figure that one out also.
I would guess that they are big enough. The wire that powers the coils also powers the injectors on that side of the engine, and only uses a 15 amp fuse. There should be two fuses for coils/injectors.
My problem was a loose relay ign wire. she runs perfect now. Yeah i know that both banks are seperatly fused and wired. If i wanted to test the idea with the stock wires and larger what would be the best way to do this. My motor isnt pushing the limit on spark yet but i would like to test them with a meter or some how. what do you folks think would work best as testing grounds.
