mail order pcm

so i need a pcm for a project and i found a place that does them on ebay from a vin number they flash it to whatever vin you give them but seing as how this is going in a swap car how would i do it just give them a random 02 camaro vin number? or what

Having them flash a stock tune on there isn't going to help you out for a swap PCM, since the VATS and all the emmisions will still be in it, making the check engine light come on.

Couldn't they just delete the DTC's for the emission stuff and disable the VATS settings with the tuning software?

its gonna get tuned anyway i just needed a pcm to start with

nope... i know someone who's got unlimited tuning vins for a 02 fbody so i'd like to get that kind of pcm but will it work with my 5.3 as long as i hae the right reluctor wheel (which idk which one i need)?
