Default Placement of new style MAF sensor

Where in the airflow should a new style "credit card" MAF sensor be placed- ie how close to throttle body, orientation to airflow, etc. Is this type of MAF more senstive to changes in position than the round kind. Would I be better off using an old style one?
Thanks

As far as the MAF goes, as long as nothing is being added/taken away after the MAF it really does not matter. The MAF has a screen in it to straighten out the flow.

Nice car by the way.

You want to have at least the diameter of the pipe be straight before and after the sensor. If you don't it will do goofy things at part throttle. I would recommend one of these new sensors with the 427 because the 85mm will become somewhat of a restriction.
Hope this helps.
