Difference between a "tune-up" and a "tune"?
Difference between a "tune-up" and a "tune"? Ok here's a newb question. Is a typical garage's "tune-up" suficient for the purpose of simply getting the vehicle to run properly after a mod? Just a regular tune-up at any mechanics garage.
I don't know a lot about this stuff and just don't know if a "tune" and a "tune-up" are considered the same thing. When I bring my car in for a tune up, do they even touch the pcm programming etc?

i do believe tune-up is things like spark plugs, fuel filter, pcv, valves, belts, fluids... etc. etc..
they won't touch your pcm at all.
tune is where they hook up a computer to your pcm and mess with air fuel ratios and such to program your car to run well.

Oh ok I see. I thought they might hook up to clear codes etc and maybe a little recalibration. Thanks for the info man.
