Computer compatibility I have an 01 SS LS1 6spd, will my computer be compatible with the ls1 out of an 04 gto 6spd? Im sure tuning will be required but just need to know if its compatible. Thank you
are you talking about computer interchangability, or ls1 engine interchangability.
you can run a 2004 ls1 engine on a 2001 ls1 pcm all day long. The pcms are different though, and you cannot use a 2004 gto pcm in a 2001 f-body wiring harness, without modificatons.

Hmm this confuses the hell out of me..
Are the pcm and pcms all in the same unit? Lets say I get the correct computer to do the swap, all my gauges and everything will still work properly?

What are you actually swapping?
You cannot put a 2004 GTO computer into a 2001 f-body wiring harness, the red plug of the f-car wiring harness does not mate with the green connector of the GTO pcm.
