WTF is going on?? WTF is going on??
Ok...
So I was driving around with codes for a week now, and got tired of looking at them so I autotapped my car.
Got codes for no cats (I have no cats), and P0327 and P0332 which is Knock sensor 1 and 2 (It said Circuit Low Frequency).
So I went ahead and cleared the DTC's, and while it was doing that, my laptop starting to beep for low battery. This is weird because the laptop was connected to my cig lighter.
Anyway, I turned the laptop off when the DTC clear was done, and tried to start the car. Nothing. The starter sounded like it was grinding on the teeth of the flywheel, like it maybe didn't have enough juice to turn the flywheel. When I took the key out or put it to OFF, the trunk popped, the cd popped out, and the rpm and tach went to MAX, then min.
Weird!
Now the car just sits. I checked all fuses, and the battery (12 volts sitting, 11 while cranking).
Anyone have any idea?

I remember hearing a while ago that some folks were frying their PCMs when flashing with Edit. They were all using a Radio Shack power inverter and battery voltage was backfeeding through the cable and cooking the PCMs. This would be the first time I've heard it happen when only scanning, but I suppose it COULD happen. For safety's sake, I'd ony scan with the laptop unplugged from the car's battery.

The other point is the 'moment' the laptop beeped saying 'hey, I'm low on battery' it could have momentarily lost connection the the cable, or sent bad data down the cable to the PCM. Either way, frying it enough that now your car won't start. The good news is it's all of 5 minutes to pull the PCM. I'm not sure what GM will charge to reflash it, but on LS1Tuning.com some guys have sent their PCM to Ken at Carputing instead of having GM reflash it. Food for thought. Mine was wiped out when LS1Edit was talking to my PCM due to a low battery situation. Even worse, the PCM showed it was accepting our changes ( after the connection was lost ) but the dyno showed otherwise. So we lost 4 hours on the dyno scratching our heads over what could be wrong.
