Weird EFI readings and problems...please help.

Tonight is the last night of drag racing up here and I have only been once all fall. I was really hoping to go tonight and I still will but these readings have me a little concerned.

At WOT in 2nd gear I am seeing:
TP = 90.2% at it's highest :huh:
LOAD = 100
AFR is dropping to 11.4 while at WOT :huh:
Timing stays at 29.5 while at WOT
LTFT B1 & B2 = 0.78 for both of them.
B1S1 and B2S1 = 920's to 930's

Other readings I don't know whether they are normal or not:
MAP = 94 at it's highest
Yellow MAF = 10123 at it's highest
Green MAF = 320 at it's highest

Finally, EFI won't even read my first gear punch! :huh: It reads everything else but it's as if I never hit it in first gear, just completely didn't read it.

If anyone has any thing they could comment on, please do so. I'd like to get some feedback before lunch today because that is the only time I will have to play with anything before going to the drag strip tonight.

Many thanks,

Derrick

With EFILive connected and logging, engine off, fully open the throttle body by hand until it hits the stop. Check EFIlive to see the readings at WOT.
It would be a good idea to log the {GM.TPS} throttle sensor voltage as well.

MAP should be higher than that at WOT, unless there is a restriction in the air intake, or maybe your throttle is not opening all the way - see above.
Or are you running at high altitude?

Some laptops have a shut-off protection for hard disk drives when subjected to excessive g's. It may be worth re-mounting your laptop with some soft padding under it.
Are you using traction control? It has priority over EFILive's data logging.

Also, depending on the scan mode, it will sometimes drop/skip readings to divert processor power to actually making the car run

In that case, try changing logging mode to Dynamic in EFILive V6 (aka GM meduim dynamic in V5).

In V6, to force dynamic scan mode,
Check the option:
Properties->Logging->Scan mode->Dynamic packets
And uncheck the options:
Properties->Logging->Scan mode->Use 10x24 if supported
Properties->Logging->Scan mode->Use 5x24 if supported

It could be the G's because I tried to log a couple runs last night and again it was not logging first gear, it's as if it never happend. It only logged my burnout and 2nd gear and part of 3rd gear. I'll try putting some clothes under it or something and see if that helps.

The WOT is fine now. I don't know what was wrong before but it isn't doing it anymore. :huh:

Hey, have there been any updates to the software over the past year or so? I've had it about a year but haven't used it too much and have never checked for updates. If so, where can I get the latest update?

Thanks,

Derrick
