startup without tune???
so i have a 98 trans am that just got a nice cam only ls3 what ive been wondering is how important is a tune? i know im leaving gobs of power on the table, but it seems like ive read alot lately saying the computer will learn out my changes and run fine after a few cycles, is this true? and please dont flame, i was fully intending on tuning it but from what ive heard it would be a waste especially since ill have to go out of state to get it done... the things ive read were minor changes like cam or headers, not entire motors, though...

cool i think ill get a tune then, hahah deff not trying to cheap out i think im at the 7 grand mark right now on the motor, if it wont control it then ill sit it on the dyno, i just wanted to know if it would run or not, thanks guys. When i said changed the crank out i meant i had the motor proffesionally rebuilt and they put a 24 tooth crank in and all the other fun stuff.
oh and there will be vids when its done, but ill do it the right way so hopefully no ka-boom vids,

It will start and hold idle assuming you did everything right, and it will drive, the long term fuel trims will adjust to the engine and try to make it work, do not do wide open throttle and you will be fine.

When it first crank it will be in open loop and won't be adjusting fuel for any reason. If you can keep it running long enough to get it past that it may hold idle, but everytime it shuts off it will start over with OL.
Best case scenario is that it will hold idle but it won't be a very clean idle. Driving is just about out of the question.
We have no idea what injectors this guy has, so even the PCM trying to correct with different injectors won't help.
