Default Moving PCM From 1 car to another

Well...heres the deal. The motor, tranny, and basically everything is going to be moved from my 01 car to a 99 roller. Now I dont have anybody to pull the tune, or a way to get either car to a tuner since neither 1 is drivable. So is it possible to move the pcm from the 01 to the 99? or do I need to go through the hassle and move the wiring harness with it. Tried a search but couldn't find anything relevant, so maybe one of you guys could point me in the right direction. Thanks

just swap and you will be fine, as long as there is no 98 harness involved, you can swap ecm's from 99-02 without issue, just pay attention to the tune, and any A4/M6 swaps need custom tuning.

That is a body control module (bcm) function. You will need a GM Tech II to reprogram the bcm if swapping the bcm along with the pcm does not work.

ok...so lets pretend that im retarded.. if i swapped the ecm and bcm theretically it should work since im taking the whole steering column out of the 01 and going to make sure the wires go where they need to. correct? and where is the bcm located in the car?

Passenger side foot kick panel is where the bcm is. If you are moving them both from the same car odds are less likely that you will need to link them together with a GM Tech II.

awesome! now im concerned with the vats system. Since im moving columns the ignition switch is going with it. Is the vats a bcm function? I dont want to get finished and the car wont start because its reading the wrong key.
