I'm going through similar chit right now

My car will start up fine sometimes and then not at all.

I'll be driving down the road and it will just shut off without warning.

Not my crank sensor.

I know it's electrical SOMEwhere but we're having a hard time finding it. Now I fried the starter when it wouldn't start at ALL this past weekend.

Let me know when yo figure yours out.

Thanks for the advice, but in the post I say it did complete the flash and I installed another PCM...Same results.

The crank sensor has nothing to do with the pump not priming nor lack of communication with the PCM. But thanks for the ideas..

FINALLY! After almost 2 months of nagging aggravation!

Crank position sensor wire was MELTED onto the surrounding wires from the heat of the big-a$$ headers.

It appeared that it was an issue that has progressed over a decent amount of time; and now it's just been shorting out the car.

FINALLY getting this problem fixed. Good luck with yours.

Thought I'd post up in case you have a similar electrical short somewhere involving a pinched PCM wire.

Thanks, could be a very valuable post for me. I took a look under my car again (finally) yesterday. The crank sensor wires were 1) exposed for several inches, 2) a couple inches from the header and 3) close to the starter ground - which was also close to the header.

Although I haven't seen anything obviously melted yet, I'm thinking possibly I have some fried wires too.
