Default handheld question

sorry, im a newb to handhelds. my friend has a hypertech he got when he bought is lt1 formula and i was just wondering if it is possible to use this one my car (99 Z28)? i am installing headers & TD's next week and im going to want to clear the codes and tweak the tune a little probably. is this possible, or do i have to buy new credits or whatever? ...reason i ask is he said it only works with one vehicle for its life.

No because the vin on the tuner will match to his vehicle only. By the way I am selling a nice crane/vinci handheld tuner for a good price. Just click on link? I reseted this tuner back to stock so mine will work to any vehicle except of the 1998's
