Problem with tach output pin #10 white wire

This is off a 2000 LS1 Trans Am and im using the #10 pin white wire coming from the red pcm: This started out as a shift light problem but it now seems to be a pcm problem. Basically I wasnt getting any signal to my shift light even after splicing and soldering the shift light wire into the tach signal wire. For my own troubleshooting I cut wire in half and the factory tach still works? What exactly does this wire actually do? Im at a complete loss and need some help. Thank You!!!

C2 (red) pin 10 WHT circuit 121 = Engine Speed Signal -Tachometer
Looks like it goes to the EBCM.

did this problem ever get rsolved? i am having the same problem with my autometer shift light and i sent it to autometer and they said there is nothing wrong with it.
