Default Tune Question

I just got a cam, headers, lifters and new valvetrian put in. I got the texas speed mail in computer tune. And Im getting these codes still P0101, P0106, P0101pd, P0106pd. My question is, was I suppose to get those codes tuned out or did the garage mess something up? thanks!

You could tune out the first one if you are running SD, but otherwise you wouldn't want to turn either of those off. The 0101 means the MAF and VE calcs aren't jiving, and the 0106 is a MAP error. Is there a chance your MAP sensor isn't plugged in?

How big of a cam did you put in? There are diagnostic tables for those 2 codes and if the tune isn't dialed in perfectly, it could throw those dtc's. It's probably in the tune.

well what about mine? same problem with a TR230, the tune has been perfect for a couple years, could it all of a sudden "forget" a tune like that?

Do you just have p0101 and p0106? Your situation may be a little different than the OP since yours has been fine for a couple of years. The OP sounds like he just did the mods and now has ths problem.

true, but as far as symptoms it is exactly the same, a P0101, and P0106 as well as a pending on both. Maybe PCM is taking a ****?

Those codes would make me want to look for a vacuum leak, if the car has low vacuum it will run the P0106. It could also be seeing "un-metered" air (basically the same thing) as a difference between MAP and MAF values. While this could be the tune, physical properties of the engine should be checked first. I have had issues with the P0106 because my cam was causing the low vacuum, and that can be tuned out, but check for vacuum leaks. Remember that your engine has been apart so don't forget to look at the EVAP lines, PCV system, and the lines connecting to the back of your intake manifold.

I highly doubt your PCM is taking a ****, this is very uncommon.

check for vacum leaks first, check sensors the ohms across them with a fluke meter. and if everything checks out. i have seen sometimes the tuning tables not jiving in certain areas sometimes like stated above. its not common that it happen but i have seen it before. texas speed has some good tunes but thats the only down fall to mail order tunes cause every car is differant and react a little bit differant to some calculations. Start there and see where that leads you

Good luck

Dont know what you cam specs are but for big cams especially in LTx I will set the startup idle high and step down as it warms up, This will usually prevent the map code from coming on...
