Default fast standalone question

We are planning a procharged 414ci LSX build in a 98 TA at work and are looking at going to a standalone engine management computer. When you do this do you loose the functionality of the stock gauge cluster? If you dont, then how do you piggy back the systems together to make it all work?

i believe you cant piggyback them, but if you wire up th gauges right everything works fine
