predator is it worth it ok talking to the shop thats going to tune my engin he said he can tune it on the dyno whe efi for 500 or he will tune it same way and include the predator fo me to use for 300 more is it worth it i know nothing about tuning these engines
he's going to basically sell you a predator for 300 correct?

Well the lates Predator will store up to 5 custom tunes in addition to your stock (for me this is the one that will pass smog here in CA) tune. His dyno time seems a bit steep. If your tune is pretty hairy and throws codes the preadator will save you the hassel and expence of going to the tuner or stealership to tell you what is wrong, it also will let you program for a low temp thermostat, trans shifts , gears, stall and tire size if any of these change after the tune. I just got mine updated and I think its great.
HPTuners is for a laptop/PC. I have one of the new Predator handhelds, and I like it pretty well. If he can load that tune onto the Predator, then you'd be able to put the stock tune back on there if you ever wanted to, plus you can still to some live datalogging for things like fuel trims, spark advance, and knock retard. I think it's a pretty good unit, but you'll get a lot of people on here who will want to bash it.
