Default Tuning transmission question and torque management

So I have a 2002 Trans Am A4 with all the bolt on mods and Im planning to get it tuned by frost here in a few weeks when the weather starts getting bad. I bought the car used about four years ago and im unsure whether the car has a shift kit or not, there are times when it shifts and it makes a loud crackle like a gun going off. Will the fact that I dont know whether it has a shift kit or not affect tuning?

Also, is getting rid of the torque management going to be a problem if i dont know if it has a shift kit or not.

How would one go about telling if it had a shift kit? Im completely clueless on just this aspect. I know everything else that is done to it except this.
