Default 4L80 tuning question

hey guys I am going to be getting a mail order tune for a 4L80 and the question is once this is done will it read as a GM truck or will it still read as a T/A? I have emissions and this is something that is a big concern to me. And if it is tuned to the truck will the truck need the egr and air box? What years did they stop, if they did at all, putting either of those in vehicles?

The PCM will stay the same. So whatever PCM you have will not change anything. They will just change the transmission section in it.

Why would you have to keep EGR and other stuff?? Just delete it in the tune. My truck has never failed emissions. 60lb inj, No EGR, No Cats, No rear O2s, No MAF, 2 Turbos, 2 Fuel pumps, 4L80e swap.

I wish. Everything gets plugged up and if more than two things show up as "not ready" then I will fail smog cats and rear o2s are gone already and luckily there is no visual cause it probably would confuse the **** out of the people in there. But I will also get a SD tune in what I hope the near future

That is why you set those readiness codes to "No Error Reported" Problem solved. If this were a "Offroad" car.
