Default please help tuning ls1!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok first let me tell u everything so you all can understand
i have a 99 ls1 6 speed i did a swap and put it in a mustang
so 91 mustang with 99 ls1 and 6 speed
got it all done and running and the only mods are
k&n cone filter with a 4 inch pipe to throttle body
longtube headers
off road 2.5 inch x pipe n flowmasters
3.73 gear
now when driving the car smoothly through the gears it feels like the computer is taking power away a lil then giving it back... hard to explain but its hard to drive smoothly

when u mash it to WOT sometimes it feels like somethings holding it back big time and then like 4500 it really opens up and hauls for a split second
and other times when u first hit it..... it will pin you to the seat for a split second then feels like it loses power and kinda falls on its face

i just got the hp tuners a week ago i have disabled the vats for sure....... and i think i have successfully deleted the rear o2's but i am not sure
all this tuning is new to me could somebody please lead me to steps to make the car run right?

I think you need to specify what type of tune you are trying to do.

Closed-Loop or Open Loop? SD or MAF?

It might be difficult to teach you the steps via Internet, but specifying what type of tune will make it easier to guide you.

If you get stuck, you might consider professional help. There are several sponsors who might help you.

Good luck.

So I'm guessing you're not doing a dyno tune. What else did you tune for already? or is that it? If so then that shouldn't cause the symptoms you're describing.

It you haven't really changed anything on the engine itself it can't be much. Log it while driving then post up the log. Just use the default imperial config for now.

ok i got in touch with a friend of a friend that came to the house and did a check on a few things and showed me some stuff to look for........
we took it down the road and he was scanning
he said above about 60% throttle its going lean
he said at WOT the O2's are showing about 100 milivolts, he said they should be about 700 to 800 when at WOT
so therefore the computer is pulling timing and thats where my power is going
he is suppose to come back tommorow and log it and try to make the changes needed
does all this sound right to you guys?

Getsum:

To really do it right you need a wideband that will accurately read your AFR. The O2 Voltages he is mentioning have to with the factory narrowbands, that are not always accurate for determining WOT AFR.

He or you would have to post the log that actually show it is pulling timing. If it is just a guess based on the O2 Voltages.. that is not good enough.

No matter how basic your tune and log..if you post it others can help. Otherwise we all all taking someones conclusions, that may or may not be accurate.

The less we have to guess..the better for you.

Thanks.

You bumped a 6 month old thread to say that?

Edit: just noticed that evidently that's all you can do is bump old threads. Possible spammer?
