LS1 Edit Question
I am needing my PCM flashed and tuned. But I do not have edit. I know a friend who does have edit.
If I go to carputing and just buy the license from them for my PCM and then have my friend use his LS1 Edit to edit mine....
Now if down the road int he future I buy Edit for myself, will my License for MY pcm work with MY edit program.... or will it always require me to have him tune it using his ls1 edit?

Edit is not a software licence but a hardware lock on the cable. Your friend has to send his cable back to carputing to add another license to it. If you want your own cable later down the road I dont know how they would handle that. I added a license to my cable for my friend at work who bought a 01 T/A.

To add it to an existing cable, you also have to get a software upgrade, which carputing will send when you pay for the additional license being added to an exisiting LS1edit license.

not "the cable" exactly but the hardware on the cable. Just like autotap it has the cable that connects to the car, that connects to a box that has the circuitry in it and then ther is another cable that connects to your computer. Its the chip in the box that handles the locks, not an easy thing to copy.
