Mine is pretty slow, say I'm running 60mph or so, throw it into second, floor it, if it breaks loose I'll bang the limiter at 8,500 before my tach even says 7,000. My shift light says it's slow by about 800rpm but that's also dependent on how fast it revs, 800rpms off in a second gear pull but it starts catching up in third and is dead on in 4th...

Wow, that is really slow lol. This is as close as I could pause it:
So whats the shift light set to anyway?
I def can tell mines slow though, it really annoys me actually. Might have to get a shift light.

Mine is the exact opposite. Any one know why it would take a long time for my rpm's to drop. I'm pretty sure my other ls1 buddy's cars just drop down after they let off the accelerator. Mine seems to hang and drop really slow.
Sorry to Jack your thread. If anyone can think of anything can you please PM me.

I've got a 98 Trans Am and a 00 Z28 and I must say that my TA is fairly quick but my Camaro is the exact same way as above... It's noticeably worse on a 150 shot too! I think it's mostly due to what was stated above on the newer cars. The 99-up cars run on a serial bus that delivers all the gauges data via a GM Link. I know for a fact my 98 does not run off this because the tach wire on the ECU runs to the gauge... and changing the tach output resolution changes the RPM's on the 98 but doesnt on the 00.
I've not found a fix to speed it up... does somebody have one?
