Default tuning advice

I looking for some help on what to do with my car, here is the situation. My SS has a few bolt-ons and is just my summer street car. Catback, headers, ory, lid, 4.10s, and I'm looking to just get a tune to accommodate those and maybe a bit a performance tune set up. My plan was to take to my car to the closest shop with a dyno and get them to set something up, I'm not sure of all the things to cover and what best setup would be when doing that? Friends have recommended a hand held tuner to customize it my self and not worry about a shop.

Any opinions?

a hand held tuner is going to be cheaper, especially if you get a used one but it's not going to do as good of a job. My advice is always to invest in some tuning software like hptuners and DIY.
