Painting PCM?

Any reason I can't bead blast and paint the PCM? Maybe just a light scuff and paint it if the bead blast seems too aggressive.

I wouldn't blast it. The light scuff should work fine. Obviously keep paint off of all connections. I'm not sure if the chassis of the PCM needs to be grounded through the mounting screws, but just in case don't get paint on the mounting hole threads.

I think you'd be better off getting one of those chrome looking PCM covers so you don't reduce the cooling charastics of the PCM case by covering it with paint.

I gave that heat thing some thought too, but since the PCM lives in the engine compartment, I'll guarantee that it gets more heat from the engine than it generates internally from the 12V operation.
What this means is that insulation would actually, under many conditions, keep it cooler than it would otherwise be.
