Do I need the cd in the laptop to use HPT?

I want to try to use a netbook to use Hp tunners. It has a remote dvd/cd drive. Can I use the drive to load the program on the laptop and then use the scanner and editer w/o the cd in the machine? Up till now it has been on a laptop that has a dvd drive so the cd was always in the computer. Thanks.

I haven't used the cd since circa 2004.

Yeah man, you can just download the installer right off the HPTuners website when you log in...I don't even know where my CD is, just my cable that carries my license.
