MAFless/speed density tune

I head about this once or twice, and saw it in a post yesterday. Anyone know what they're talking about on this? I'm interested.

When you disconnect the maf the engine will run on ve and map tables. It would eliminate O2 and the maf in the tuning process, and simplify things. I know of a couple people who have done this.

Personally for a bolton car or a mild cam car I think it's not needed.

Correct there, John. Makes tuning a bit easier in H/C, displacement and F/I applications. Certainly not worth the effort in a bolt-on car.
