Default hot starts with 231/237

I recently installed PP stage II 5.3's and a TSP 231/237 cam.

When I start the car after it's hot it will barely idle. I usually press the gas a wee bit to coax it along for a minute or so then it's fine.

I tried tweaking volumetric efficiency (x 60%) and it didn't help, plus I developed hesitation when I made that change. I put the VE table back the way it was.

Any suggestions on how to fix the hot idle issue? Also, any tips on tuning for the 231/237 in general would also be welcome.

I have hot starts issues with that cam also. Don't give it gas. Let it find idle by itself. Wait a couple of minutes and it's good to go. I'm sure good tuning would fix our problem, but I'm fine with letting it run just a bit before driving.

First, with the VE table - don't multiply by 60% only multiply the first incriment by 60, then the next by like 75, then the next by 90 or so) that way its a bit smoother and you will get rid of that hesitation problem. I had to do that with both my H/C setups.

Check your timming, that could be too high and make it surge at idle...
